The Cantilever. On the rocky outcrops of summit of Glyder Fach sits the remarkable Cantilever. The stone is a large rock slab, which when viewed from the correct angle appears to be precariously balanced. It had been said that with a number of weighty climber strategically positioned along its length, could when jumping in unison, cause the stone to tilt.
It’s one of the most popular photographed mountain features along with its closely situated friend “Castell y Gwynt”. Both of which were used in Walt Disney’s 1981 movie Dragon Slayer to mark the entry to a Dragon’s lair.
